Jack Terry - Night In Old San Antonio
Product Description
The Alamo was originally known as Mission San Antonio de Valero and served as home for missionaries and their Indian converts for nearly 70 years during the 1700's. In the early 1800's the Spanish military stationed a cavalry unit in the former mission and the soldiers re-named it the Alamo. In 1835 the Alamo played a critical role in the Texas Revolution. One of my ancestors sacrificed his life in the heroic battle to free Texas. In the late 1800's many cattle were driven up the Chisolm Trail through San Antonio from south Texas to northern markets. These men arrive under full moon, anxious to end their long day on the trail.
