19 x 31 1/2 signed and numbered (1000 in edition) print by artist Howard Terpning
White trappers have written of endless confrontations with Indians and in cases when the trappers were outnumbered, the outcome usually went in favor of the Indians.
In this scene, the Indians are Crow, who were inclined to be less hostile than, for instance, the Blackfeet. He will not doubt have to give up some of his "plunder" and possibly his horses but hopefully he will escape with his hide in tact.
