“This art is a time machine taking me back to the late 1940s when we fed cattle and sheep hay from a slip much like the one pictured.
My grandfather was Jesse Duncan from near Buffalo, Wyoming, before moving in the late '30s to Big Timber, Montana, where I was raised. Grandpa's brothers were Iris and Jayne (who changed his name to Houston Duncan--go figure).
"Snowy Day" is my exact memory, except for little me standing behind Grandpa on the hayslip with my hands in his back pockets for warmth.
